Digital Italy starting from the cash register

The digital revolution in Italy starts from Europe
To date, Italy is the only country in Europe to have introduced the general obligation of electronic invoicing, with particular encouragement from the European Union.
In addition to being a first decisive step towards a digital world, this decision should solve some viral social problems in our country: tax evasion and the modernization of the VAT system.
An increasingly digital Italy: the Internet of Things
But what does the obligation of electronic invoicing have to do with the digitalization process in Italy?
The relationship can be identified in what contemporary digital culture defines with the interesting formula Internet of things : the internet of things.
There is no digital revolution that does not start from the concept of a reality where everything is interconnected: from the most insignificant to the most complex apparatus.
The digital revolution, therefore, starts from connecting any device to a single internet line.
And this is where we discover how the Internet of Things is also affecting the field of cash registers.
Towards a digital Italy: connecting the cash register to the internet
With the obligation of electronic invoicing, the need for companies to connect their cash register to the Internet line now seems essential.
With this connection, when the daily cash register closes, the data stored during the working day are signed and sent electronically to the Revenue Agency .
The connection is actually a very simple operation, which can be done in three different ways.
The cash register with fiber connection
Obviously, the best solution would be to install a fiber optic connection .
A line that features stability and a significant increase in performance.
We are talking about the classic cable connection, which is generally activated in 15/20 working days.
It must be said, however, that not everyone can have excellent coverage, and some areas may even be excluded from it.
Wireless broadband connection
The most attractive alternative, for those who do not have the possibility of an ADSL connection, is that of a wireless broadband connection . A transmission system that guarantees a connection through the use of radio waves transmitted in the air.
In detail, the technology used is WiMax: an acronym that stands for Worldwide interoperability for microwace access and allows, starting from a base station, to transmit the signal to the antennas installed in homes.
This system allows you to use the Internet without the need for a telephone line.
The guaranteed speed, at the moment, is up to 100 Mbps. In this mode there is also the advantage of being able to access reduced offers, even prepaid ones, which could be an excellent solution for those who have a seasonal business.
4G LTE connection
A final alternative is a 4G connection.
Almost all telephone operators offer the possibility of activating SIM cards - both rechargeable and subscription-based - that allow you to surf the Internet.
However, it should be remembered that the telematic recorder requires an Ethernet cable to access the network.
It will therefore be necessary for the modem purchased to have an RJ45 network socket, and to be able to support a SIM for 4G browsing.
